Leg 1: to Denver

The time is now. I am waiting to board my first flight in a series of three...and my stomach is doing flips, yet I also feel somewhat calm. My first flight is to Denver and only last 2.5 hours, which is a small part considering that I will be doing a total of something around 44 hours of travel (including layovers) from the 18th to the 20th. In order to put my family at ease I will attempt to write a short blog at each stop as a travel series. So let the adventure begin....!

So Close to FINLAND!

Yesterday was graduation marking the end of one era of my life and sending me into a exciting new chapter! Today, marks one week before my trip to Finland! On the 18th I will be boarding multiple planes in order to make my way to the small town of Hetta. All the preparation to make it there, such as filling out the lengthy and comprehensive application form, will be worth it once I am partaking in challenging and fulfilling work on the farm. Even though I am very excited a part of me is also very nervous. This will be my first time travelling out of the country! I would also be lying if I didn't say I am more than a little nervous for the adjustment period that I am going to need before I can be fully comfortable in my new surroundings. However despite the nerves, and apprehension, I am also thrilled and counting down the days.

Now That Highschool Is Over...

Now that I am done with highschool....well almost done, my graduation is next Tuesday, I am moving on to new adventures. The first adventure being a three month working trip in Hetta, Finland. In Hetta I will be working on the Hetta Huskies farm taking care of dogs and doing physical labor. I am leaving exactly one week after graduation! With this big adventure at hand I am both very nervous, and VERY excited! This will be my first time travelling out of the country and I am looking forward to a challenging and wonderful experience. Because I will be gone for three months I thought a blog would be a good way to stay in touch, and let people know what I'm doing with life. So with all that said I look forward to busy and exciting next few months.
